I'm am seriously considering running this in my boat. My fast xfi computer has a table for this and gm makes a sensor that you can plug into the fast ecu and it will automaticly adjust to the different fuel. This is why I'm considering it.
1.The price of a gal at the pump in pomona is around $2.-$3 for E85 verses a gallon of race 110 octane $8-$9 a gallon. Even burning 30% more I would still save a ton of $ on fuel.
2. HP increase. I will see a 8-30% hp increase. I would see a hp gain of around 80hp to 150 hp.
3. The fuel burns cold so it works as a inter cooler in a way. keeping my etg down the motor runs colder and less likely to detonate. A cool motor is a happy motor.
3. This fuel burns a lot cleaner, keeping engine parts from carbon build up and the motor clean will help with wear and tear.
4.Using this fuel you can run a lot more boost, compression or nitrous with out detonation. I have a 300 shot now. I could easily step it up a 100 hp or 2 with no problems.
Using this fuel calls for some up grades that Ive already done. Big fuel lines and ss hose's with an ends, bigger injectors, and a fuel pump that will handle the 30% increase. I don't see why I shouldn't run it. The only cons that I see is that E85 like to absorb water and It burns clear, could be dangerous. Other than that I don't see why not.
What do you guys think? Have any of you thought about it?
