Anyone got one laying around?

After running Pickle around the lake, she seemed to run out of gas. Wouldn't get above say 1500 rpm without sputtering out. So idled for about 2 miles back to the beach, found the port side tank bone dry, 3/4 tank or better in the starboard tank. (No fuel level guage on this boat........yet)

Pair of vice grips on the port tank line solved that, for the moment, but probably a pickup tube issue in the starboard tank. Going to put in some SS tanks I got from Brad, but won't get those until Temple Bar. But I think I'd rather have the same setup Moo has with the switch and one tank having a sending unit. a manual valve is OK, but pulling out the upholstery back there to get to one would be a PITA, especially since it will ALWAYS happen in the middle of the lake or miles downriver or something.

Thanks Nordie, I'll check into that! Might be the cats meow for this thing. Would be cool to have the one from Moo on this one, though, and I may just do that and retrofit Moo.

That aside, the Pickle boat ran and handled flawlessly yersterday! A couple near swamp issues, one my fault and one RJ's, but all new cables, helm and diverter was a godsend for this boat! (Yes, the Sleek steering wheel is still there).

I think there's more roost in it though. Moo's is bigger (Could be the HP differential), but still fun!

make sure that you aint leaving anything out and make sure the diverter goes all the way up! thats a split bowl too there's always wedges!

ok i couldnt get my fat ass off of the couch but now i will and start working on my boat....gonna go through the carb again, and pull the valve covers, also check the oil cause i had some water in there see if that burned out...install a second oil pressure gauge for confirmation on my oil psi and WAX it up....

Already has a 3 degree wedge (I think) on it. But yeah, this one can benefit from some grinding to get a few more degrees out of it pretty handily. Moo's maxed out pretty much out of the box! 

Now that I've jacked and twisted this thread all to hell anyway, DOES anyone have one of these valves around? Would be nice to stay as original as I can on this one?

I think the thing that most impressed me was that when running the diverter down roughly 5 degrees, the boat picked up some speed (very noticeable) compared to straight out. makes me wonder why the wedge was put in there to begin with with the std nozzle. Full up it lost very little, compared to Moo when full up, steering it was much easier in that mode tho. This was all on nearly glass like water too. Time will tell how much it helps this lil thing in the "Deadliest Catch" season at Saguaro....
