Check the push rods and guideplates to see if any are bent. Check the stud bosses for cracks, it takes a lot to bend those studs. What took the impact, the rockers? Head? Intake?
If you really don't want to pull it down, at least rotate it by hand, looking AND feeling for any binding or anything that just doesn't look/feel right. If you find any sticking, find it and fix it! It will not "wear in".
Sorry that happened. Building an engine is a stressful time and setbacks like this will test your patience.
