Exhaust Flaps
« on: June 22, 2013, 11:00:06 AM »
Can someone please solve a argument with me and my buddy. We both have mini day cruisers and mine has flap on the exhaust tips and my buddies does not. Neither of us know why I have them and he doesn't? Both exhausts exit in the same area and are under the water an we both have the same exhaust manifolds. He says we don't need them and I say they are on there for a reason. Thanks

Unless you want water shooting up your pooper I'd have flaps....

They're to keep water from flowing back into the exhaust when you come to a stop, especially a quick stop. You are probably fine without them in general, of course my boat has died a few times from high speed and I was glad I had them. I also noticed they seemed to make the exhaust a little quieter when I replaced them
