Okay so some you guys of been to Lake with me no and I even posted something on here while back about it but I've been having a fuel issue that I think I got it figured out. I thought the diaphragm on my fuel pressure regulator was going bad the rebuild kit was $68 but a new aeromotive fuel pressure regulator was only 140 so I bought the new fuel pressure regulator. So I started the motor again and my feul pressure was 7 1/2 in my pump was kind of making a little bit of noise fuel pump that is andI grab it n feel the pump and it was hot to the touch so I guess I'm gonna have to buy a new fuel pump this week. Stay away from the Procomp fuel pump they're cheap only have maybe 10 12 hrs. on my boat and it's already going out

Okay so I put a new areomotive fuel pump in it today in new pump holds the pressure well put the pump itself while running stays very smooth and then will have blips of like. Inconsistent running and then cleans back up if anybody wants send me a number and I will send you a video if you have solutions or is it normal for the pump not to be super smooth and steady

I have a 30 amp fuse but not a four pin relay and how do you wire that into a normal jet boat with no fuse block

OK guys I'm stumped I put a new aero motive fuel pump and regulator and the relay all that last trip out boat ran great but my fuel pressure was way low like down the 5 1/2 from seven I just thought that was due to the heat on the gauge. So today I go out and I bump my fuel pressure up to. 8 pounds and I go out it runs good I get by Sandy Cove I go on a cruise around the lake then I go to head back towards the dock and on the way in I get all over it in my motor wants to die I look back I have no pounds of pressure so I limp into the dock at only 2 pounds of pressure. I take the boat out the water I turn my fuel pump on on the ramp with the boat out of the water I have 3 1/2 or I go home I put in the garage check it again now I'm at just under six as it stays out the sun in the garage it's slowly rises up to 7 over 10 minutes. Can the sun hitting my pump make it overheat? What can I check 😡

I would start with the suction lines and fittings from the tank to the pump. You want minimal restriction there. This also means not trying to draw through a restrictive filter.
You also don't want to suck air and break prime. Ideally, it should be mounted as low as possible and behind the pickup.
My guess is that your suction lines might be collapsing and/or your tanks aren't venting. That could also cause your pump to overheat. Electric fuel pumps are both cooled and lubricated by the fuel flowing through them.
Try running a good volume of fuel, through the system, into a gas can while you observe not only the flow, but if the suction hoses are collapsing.

I had almost similar problems. Heat on gauge is a big problem, set psi at home in shade, what filter are you running. Micron? New lines have a tendency to to make regulators stick. I ended up running 2 fuel filters with one being a 40 micron and cured my problems. I almost torched my boat because of this issue so keep a fire extinguisher handy just incase it sticks wide open.

So I redirected my fuel lines open my gas caps turn fuel pump on I'm only get in 6 pounds of pressure I turned it up from the fuel pressure regulator and then fire the motor and my pressure drops to fucking zero shut motor off back to 6 lbs I let fuel pump run and run and the fuel pump is hot as fuck so hot that my fuel lines feel hot to the touch after the fuel pump so I just got a bad pump from aeromotive right???

Could be a bad regulator. Has this deal ever worked right? Too lazy to go back and read the entire thread.
Have you pulled the line from the pump and pumped fuel from the pump into a bucket?

After reading the whole thing, you need to pull the lines of the tanks and put them in a pail of fuel and see what it does. It sounds like you have restricted pick up tubes.

I pull from both tanks at once so if one was restricted the other would still pull right

I had a similar issue, running the same pump but a different Aeromotive regulator.
The thing with running from both tanks at the same time, is that your pump will always pull harder on the shortest side. meaning if a fuel line is longer one side than the other, it will always drain the shorter side more.
Im running my two pickups to a tee with two ballvalves.
The valves can also help troubleshoot if you have a line sucking air or a pickup.
Also something i had. One of my pickup tubes were cracked. It would do exactly the same thing you are talking about.
could be a tube, line, or fitting. After i got the pickup fixed. I still had some issues. Mine finally resolved itself when i got rid of the seperator, and ran the lines to a Tee with shutoff valves. (something i recommend anyways.)
My pickup tube was cracked at the top where the AN line screwed in. Ill find a picture shortly

So today I go out to try more on this fuel issue and when I turn the key turn the pump on it took a second to get gas and then boom I got 11 pounds of pressure from turning it up the last time so if I had a crack it would it wouldn't come back up like this can it be all the wiring is new except the one wire that comes from the ignition switch to the block terminal that gives the signal to the pump to turn on has a short this dam thing is so confusing
