Look up the San Juan kits, you will have to install an automotive style block mounted water pump and the kits are pretty complete. The pressure issue is easily addressed with a simple gate valve on the raw water side of the heat exchanger. I've done at least a dozen of these. Let me know what you need.

I looks like it has a water pump and complete mercruiser cooling already, just need to plumb in a heat exchanger.

I was trying the boat today. The low hours is with a replacement long block.

Cooling water from jet pump, goes in a pipe from the drive, connecting directy to a hose for the engine waterpump.


Portboard riser has a little water leak from the gasket.
Portboard manifold temp. is quite cool
Starboard manifold temp. is hot (can´t hold my fingers there) in the area of cyl. 2 towards 4 (the two "first" cylinders in starboard)
When operating the boat the tempature meeter is dropping below 100 (min. of meeter)
Max. speed,  RPM meeter reads 4000 - 4100, Speed meeter reads 52 MPH


I´m thinking of this:

A defect starboard manifold
Gasket faliure and Portboard rider
Missing T-stat.
Wrong impeller size, as i think it schould be ideal to have max. RPM at around 4500, with this engine


Advice to proceed ?
