NEED HELP
« on: March 19, 2008, 06:50:01 PM »
I am looking for a way to "make" or "buy" locking bolts for my blower studs, to lock my blower,inter-cooler and carbs down to the manifold. So some piece of crap does not undo 8 bolts, cut my lines and walk away with all my shit. I want to keep my engine whole when i go to start my boat in the morning. I was thinking of having some "star" or "hex" bolts made so at least you would need a special tool to take off the bolts. Kind of like "wheel locks", If anyone has any ideas or knows of any products or info on how i could do this , please let me know.
                                          thanks for your help

Hey Turd-

Talk to the carpenters or maintenance mechanics @ your work, they can hook you up with some vandal proof button heads, like the kind you find all over the joint. Should keep 99.9% of the thieves at bay

right, I was gonna sugest drilling an allen and pressing in a dowel pin, drilling your allen wrenches. If thayre available WAY easier. On my last jet I had one button head on each side of the tunnel ram, slow'em down anyway.

HDriderTH, how do you stop them from just using a wrench? would'nt the nut on the stud need to be round so they could not get a grip on it?

You know that files are contraband! A newspaper or a cell phone, no problemo, a cake? I dunno, I wouldn't want to get written up  ;D

Its all about the art of the "keester" in here. ya just have to go to a "happy place" when you pass it back out. I will settle for a few bucks on the books.  O0
