Header evac setup

Hi all i'm new here and hav been browsing around for a few days checking things out. Great site!! I have a question about my headers on my boat, i have a 1980 southwind with a 460 ford. It has a set of eagle racing over the transom headers. Now it seems that someone had them setup for an evac setup at one time but now they are capped off? Also there is a 1/8" pipe elbow also threaded into the bell of each header. I was wondering what all it would take to hook the evac system back up and what are the pipe elbows on there for?

Welcome aboard first things first...also we like pictures...and lots of em...#2 evac system will be fairly easy...remove the caps...then you half to purchase the evac breathers available from summit or jegs...and some hose to connect them pretty simple really...and proven to work pretty well...#3 the bungs on the bottom of each pipe are for water lines...technically to be legal on the water you are supposed to run water through your exhaust...water lines are readily available from jetboatperformance.com at a fair price...I would advise in getting water lines just to keep johnny law off your case...

There is water injection lines at the bottom of all the header tubes. I have them plumbed up, but there is a pipe elbow 1/8" about 10-12" from the end of the tube? Was wondering what that was for? And i will get some pics later hopefully and maybe get a better idea of the bungs i'm talking about, that is if its not raining here

Hmmmm no clue on that one, but I'm pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with the evac...the way I have seen evac is one hose from the breathers, but pics will do justice

i bought a set of used bassetts that had bungs just before the bells. what this guy used them for was from the thermostat housing one line went to the water injection which is normal. the second outlet from the housing, (normally is your engine cooling out line which exits the boat through a bulkhead) he had that line hooked up to the fittings and blew out of the headers.

i abandoned the second setup and just plugged the bungs because i didn't want to load the cylinders with water.
this was on a bbf by the way.

now guys correct me if i'm screwed up.
