I plan to use a stock Autozone HEI module with my MSD blasterII coil. Will that be ok? Which module will work? I already have the coil. I need suggestions on modules. Thanks.

What HEI are you using?  If it's the old style it has a coil in the cap.  Not sure if maybe you're using a new small cap style.

Try them both and see which one runs better.  It is easy enough to swap them.

Don't forget to build the heat sink for the HEI module.

I already have a billet MSD and box but they're used. I was considering a whole new HEI distributor. The reason I decided HEI is because If a part fails it would be easy to find replacement parts. Having an MSD box fail on me at the river would cost me a pretty penny. Its not expensive to carry a spare HEI module. So by just buying the module for about $25 I could have a reliable ignition and still be able to afford to buy a spare one. I had an HEI in my previous boat and ean with no issues and I had peace of mind that it was an easy fix if something went wrong. Previous to the HEI I had a full MSD (dizzy and box) and failure was always on my mind.

Both will be dependable if they are in good working order.  I have had both without problems.  At this time I have a MSD with no issues.
