Ignition question..

Hey guys,

What I am wondering is, are there any differences between an aftermarket HEI setup and aftermarket NON- HEI setup performance wise? Because i have a full MSD HEI setup at the moment, and im considering going to the external coil non HEI setup in order to keep the coil as far forward in the boat as possible to prevent it from getting wet, plus the HEI setup it huge lol.

can anyone offer some insight.

Save your money, run what you got and keep a can of WD-40 with you

The coil in the HEI is protected .
Now if your cap gets wet , it'll stop working anyways.
You can always run the smaller cap and put a boot over it.
