Intake Manifold

Ok so my boat has a stock cast iron intake manifold and wanted to but something that looks better and performs better. Since I am going with a Holley Carb I was looking into Weiand Manifolds. My question is if this manifold will work good with a stock BBF 460 with a mild cam?

The Weiand Stealth manifold would be a good intake for that motor, I know a few people are running them and it's on my list of Ford parts also.

edelbrock airgap.  seperate runners from lifter valley = lower air temps.

Ok jackass, that's fine and fukcing dandy for a street/car motor where you actually run the damn thing under 2000 rpm. Too bad this is jet boat world, low rpms are not very common, at least my boat doesn't see much time below about 3500. I'm suggesting this intake because that's what works. Get ahold of yourself young un, you got a lot to learn.

im just goin off the dyno graph, one of many found anywhere.  has same numbers up top,  and better numbers from 3k up which is where most people cruise at. why not get a manifold which is better matched to his application and has better numbers from idle to WOT?   the dude currently has a STOCK cast iron intake manifold, what makes you think he's blasting out 6k WOT 1/4 mile passes in his boat?

I like the airgap. I know of a couple of guys running that manifold with no issues. Both are 19' jet boats.

I have a 18ft with a 460 with mild cam and I'm running a tunnel ram with two holley 660's.  ;D.

had 450's but went up to 660's. Runs great with either or. Just a little more on top end and gets there alot quicker though with the 660's. I like the muscle look. Lots of pros and cons though.

X2....But I have a performer on mine now and a rpm sitting on another.  Had a torker on it first, then replaced with no difference.

do all the torker's angle the carb?  my torker on my bbc turns my carb like 10*, enough to make my fuel rail either go straight into the valve cover or the distributor.

Dual plane in a MOTORHOME, TOW TRUCK even a street Chevelle/ Mustang, or mercruiser

Single plane in a jet boat PERIOD unless its a tunnel ram >:D

So I went through this whole ordeal awhile back as well. From my research and from people who build Fords for boats it was single plane in a jet boat all day long. Torker 2, Victor, or the Trick Flow which is what I ended up with. DO NOT get the offy.

The Weiand Stealth # 8012 is a dual plane high rpm intake and it can certainly suit a bone-stock 460 in a jet boat just fine.  It is also very value priced.  However, if your engine currently has a Ford iron intake with the casting number D0OE-9425-C, then the power improvement with the 8012 will be only very slight (in front of a jet) and more of a weight savings than anything. But the weight difference is substantial.

If you have not yet purchased an intake manifold and are willing to spend a little bit more up front (more than the cost of the 8012) then get the Edelbrock Victor.  For different reasons, you might not see a world of difference in the performance of your engine (other than weight savings) but you will have more room to grow down the road.

I fail to see how a dyno comparison of intake manifolds, for a small block chevy, which is to be driven on the street, could have any relevance to a Ford 460 in a jet boat application.

Hey LO on Edelbrock's website they say that the Victor manifold has to be port matched. Is this really necessary?
