Just to beat the topic to death one more time (Water lines)
« on: August 19, 2015, 06:10:37 PM »
Just curious for the guys running NPT/push-lock fitting off the pump, where did you find this fitting? (3/8" npt male to -10AN) or straight to 5/8" barb?

Thanks in advance

Everything from pump to the start of blue was home d... Mine are all blue push lock -10 with blk heat shrink over the red sleeve. Be careful on how tight they are as -10 seems to crack inside on female side along the angle. I've replaced all the straight fittings already.

Thanks Mom looks clean! I was trying to get the push-lock closer to the pump and run the gate valve after, in hopes of taking some weight off of the fitting at the pump. I've heard horror story's of these breaking off.

Good call on that Tim. Had that scenario happen a couple months ago. Never had an issue with taking on water .. then the bilge pump wouldnt shut off. Got it on the trailer, the pipe snapped.

Damn! Yea see that's too close for comfort. I may have to do a short stainless tube off the pump then go over to AN off of that, I just don't trust the brass.

The cheetah still runs like a champ, I've got a line of buddy's that want her once my bubble deck is complete.

Once I decide to re-plumb this one, I'll go AN. For now, I put a hose barb off the pump with a short hose to ball valve. Just didn't want the weight hanging on there anymore. Like you said, too close for comfort. Not taking the chance again.

Good to hear she's still kickin'. Sometimes I wish I had kept that boat lol

What size barb did you find? Having trouble finding 3/8"npt to 5/8" barb in stainless

She's become known as old faithful always starts and never scared to run 55

Here's what I ended up with:
3/8" npt-10an, push lock to 5/8" barb to 3/4" gate valve. Good so far?😎
