Little water in oil

I took my boat out this weekend and the river water is cold so I turned my water down a little and the water temp never got above 140 . I usually run it at 160 to 180 .. And oil temp was 170 ... Would this contribute to water in oil ? I did a pressure check and it held pressure for hours ... So? Am I over looking something?

I just put a cooler on my boat and ran at Elsinore Saturday and never got the oil above 180 and got a lot of moisture in my oil. I wouldn't say milky but alotttt of froth in the valve covers and dipstick. Engines draw a lot of moisture in when they cool down

I've seen numbers like yours with an oil cooler that had an internal leak is all.

How is your water routed?

The oil level by the way did not rise it's not that much water ....

Doing a pressure test like I did would rule out a leaky head gasket or intake gasket right?

Depending on how much water pressure your getting in your motor. It can still seep through. It doesn't take a lot of water to make it milky

I would say she needs to idle at about 150°F. You could be over over dumping,but the system sounds close. By closing the water down more will raise the header cut in point. Have you pulled the check tee apart and made sure it was clean and in tact?
Was there water coming out of the weepers?

With two dump lines, you may be able the valve one (hate doing that) so you can raise the temp and keep the headers working right.

The oil never got warm enough to steam out the condensation.

How much oil? What pan?

I like to ensure the oil stays in the 220-250°F range. Yours was way too cool IMHO.

Easiest way is more water temp, three ways to do it, reduce the amount of water flow through the engine (simple reversible valve throttling), run a water to water heat exchanger on the dump line to preheat the cooling water, run an oil cooler (I know) on the dump line with warmer water.

Also you can lean the fuel ratio if she is running a little fat.

I am so glad that someone asked this, as I am having a few issues with this too. Thank you everyone, I am understanding my engine better now. I am new to jets and am almost ready to put this restoration into the water for the first time.

I've have noticed that when I run a lake mead everything is good but when I run at the river I get a little bit more fuel in the oil not water. Did u smell the oil.

I think I found the problem .... The weep holes were plugged in the headers ! GT
What do u think ? Would that do it ?

Sure a possibility.

I personally would start there. Also pull the tee apart and ensure all is good in there. It don't take much to give the oil a barfy hue.
