Does anyone know what this stamping means in a BBC pan rail?

Probably an engine builder mark.

Mine was "GTH". it was a way to identify if the engine was built by you and someone didn't bring back I different engine trying to swindle you into thinking you build it and it blew up (happens all the time).

If it was a MOPAR, it would have significant meaning...

I saw someone else asking about it also. Same stamp same place. I read all about the Mopar thing. Think it was someone at factory along assembly line?

I know I stole your photo too lazy to dig my block out and take a picture.
I still want to know what the hell it means.

They are qc stamps... used at the factory. Each inspection gets a unique stamp. Mcmaster sells similar stamps. Kinda common and have seen an assortment of different stamps on gm blocks over the years... along with numbers and/or letters, but those are to indicate sizing for bore size, main bore size, etc...
