2Sav,
An MSD Dist. that is NOT self contained will work with the 6AL (rev limiter on the 6AL). MSD pro-billet here with 7AL-2 box. You might want to go to MSD site and check the wiring diagrams for HEI set up.

2Sav,
Not a bad price. I saw a post from you at PB.com that you are selling your boat.
What's the deal. Are you getting it wet first. Why for sale.

2sav, that doesn't seem like a bad price, i had to buy a new 6al box at the parker gathering, it was 229.00 + tax, i know when i bought all my msd parts it totaled a lot more than that kit (has been several years ago), now stay focused, put your head down and finish the damn boat, i want to see it on the water before i get forkedup back together and for sale......... :)

I know what you mean 2Sav. I was in the same situation. There were tons of nice less expensive boats on the market when I was doing my boat. There was a place in AZ I think it was Doc's place (I have been there and met Doc in 2005). Once in a while they would post a killer Jet on E-bay. They were great deals too. Even my wife was like get rid of your forever ongoing project and get one of those (I am in CT and the trip would be $$$). I was frustrated too, but kept on plugging away at it. You are close man, don't give up man. It took me 4 years to get my boat to where it is today and tons more money than a turnkey boat.
I kept going cause I knew I would "know" my boat when done. Now get that bitch wet.
Good luck.

ps- I have almost 1k into my MSD set up. Pro-billet dist, 7AL2 Box and Pro-blaster coil and Taylor wires.

The GM hei is a very simple wire up with the msd boxes 6a or 6al  all that is retained is the trigger the module in the hei is bypassed but the downfall is the coil in the cap you can run an external coil with a cap adapter and that solves that problem but for all you chevy guys wysco products sells a msd knockoff distributor that IS the Same as msd pro billet distributor magnetic pickup for 55 bucks but you have to run the box to use it (just like the msd unit)I have run several of these distbutors in fords and chevys and have had no problems as of yet........

jus slap an HEI in it and go, one wire, more than enough. I dont think that motor will spin hard enough to need a limiter, (valve springs). All that shit can be added later. Summers half over Dog, lets go.

2Sav,
I have an HEI set up. GM module (not china) new cap rotor and good coil. I used this to break in my BBC on my run in stand. 50 bucks plus shipping. Otherwise I am putting it on Ebay.
