OK WENT TO CHECK(LET ME STOP YELLING) a D1VE 460 disassembled short block and i seen two things i have questions on.  Fisrt the connecting rods were mounted to new pistons kool rt he says they have been balanced i can have that checked heres the but, the connecting rods had been machined on sides the cast marks removed, I've never seen that.  He said that strengthins the con rod. What do u think??  :screwy:huh? ok n heres # two the block has surface rust all over it can that be chem bathed away and what about crank n cam seal n bearing surfaces cuz u can see they were resurfaced but surface rust is there. he aslo said the block had been bored 30 over if i took my digital calliper there what should it measure n with surface rust will bath be ok or honing is needed to resurface piston walls? Any help would be greatly appretiated :beer:s all around boys... TY

ok the cam bearings if you cem bath it SHOULD BE REPLACED, not sure about the bore. but i would assume its 30 thou over factory bore. if there is rust on the bores , watch out. it depends on how deep the rust is. each cyl is honed to each piston cause non of that stuff is perfect.

see connecting rod arrow above rod bolt thats been machined or ground not were arrow says i beam

spray it down with wd40 then.NOT WHERE YOUR GOING TO PAINT. sounds fine /remember clean clean clean and then clean again. no dust no dirt no hair just air.

thanks dudeds i think i might see if i can take it to a machine shop n have them tell me if its worth saving or just find one on ebay with warrenty
