If an olds had been run with a small pan for any time in a jet boat, especially with no oil mods...it's injured

Hmmm, pretty broad statement.

Olds came in just about every jetboat in the 70's, ran for years, some still going to this day, trouble free. Stock oil pan and all. Including mine.

Guess it's about how it's driven, maintained and if rebuilt, how well it was done.

Not the original owner, but guy I got it from was. Motor was rebuilt, but has been many many moons.

Boat's definitely not a trailer queen, by any means. Out almost every weekend, usually both days. Less then 20 minutes from home to being out on Elsinore. I don't drive like a grandma, but don't thrash it either.

I'm not saying a Olds engine doesn't have it's problems. By all means, I know they are prone to oiling problems, water pressure issues, water/oil contamination and don't like high RPMS. I know! I was just implying that just because it has a small oil pan, doesn't mean it automatically needs a rebuild.

That's never what I stated, or implied!

Oil pan suggestion was in addition to a number of other things known about the engine, wasn't it?
