Yeah it is a little on the conservative side probably for multiple conductors and 3% voltage drop. this one is from American boat and yaht console. 3% and 10% VD

Virtually everything we do calls for 10%.
The reasoning is pretty simple. Nothing we run runs at 100% duty cycle and most, if not all of the wire is "open air" and not in a conduit.
If this was a live aboard yacht, anything pertaining to "house loads", or "life/safety" follow the 3%, anything with a short duty cycle (starters, bilge pumps, windshield wipers, horns, trim devices etc.) follow the 10% chart.
Otherwise the boat will be so heavy with wire you'll need a blower to get on plane. Lmao.
