Would this be a good kit to pick up for the boat?  It has more wires than i need, but that is always better than not enough

how much are you going to save? 40 buck or less and you have to do the work

I like running my own wires when I can find the right colors.  I finally did on eBay.  Use the standard marine wiring color guide and you're all set and anyone can figure out what you've done.

I don't know where you are buying #10 wire but you can get that from Lowe's or Home Depot, stranded for about $ .50 a foot or less.  So both the black and white can be had (20 feet x 2) for about $20.00.  You can twist it or you can run it through convoluted tubing that I got from SummitRacing.com.  As for connectors, you can find them on eBay as well, but it's just as easy to go to your local big box store and buy them or automotive parts store.

I only used #10 for the power and the ground to the dash, also the starting circuit.  I think you could use #16 for everything else.  The Hardin Marine harness looks to be like #18 or smaller.  Nothing is really drawing enough current except when starting, to warrant real heavy wiring.

I went out and measured the boat the 20' wire harness is about 5' too long......I dont know if it will come with all connectors attached or if it will let you trim to fit If not..... I will buy my wire from the hardware store and get with it....   I really like what skip did with his set up. That plug idea is bitchen....

Where's that thread from Skip's wiring?  I'm always open to other ideas.  I don't think you'll find all the right colors in a hardware store.  Had I found the eBay site before I did mine, I would have gone with the #16 and alol the right colors for a boat wiring job.
