Guy brings it in... Local shop that built it , blew him off..said improper break in 

Upon my t/d & inspection... I find the crank to be .030/.030  with std. rod & main bearings installed

So much for blueprinted assemblies....Oil clearances were over  .015 thous. across the board 

Yaaa blame the poor customer 

Just throw some 290 wt oil in it and let it roll......, maybe a bucket or two of axle grease..   


I did one in about 1999 that was missing the center cam bearing....Not spun...MISSISNG. LOL..

Did the builder make it right after finding out it was his mistake? 

If not, I think it would be a good time to "drop off" the crank to the builder.  Maybe "accidently" drop it on his foot

Not really, I had $3000 in my rebuild and I reused the cam and did the build myself.

$1200 sounds conservative    but then I do tend to get carried away

0.015+ on the bearings, eh? Easy. Blend Valvoline 60-wt with 1 can STP oil treatment, spike with Lucas Oil Stabilizer, pour into crankcase. Add a lLttlefiled 12/71 on top with a mechanical injection system, use methanol for fuel.
