Ford 460.

 I have the 4 pronged relay with battery hooked up on the primary post Right side next to the secondary post marked I. The secondary post marked I does not get any thing hooked up to it. The other primary post on the Left next to the secondary post marked S has the starter hooked up to it. The secondary post marked S gets 12V from the ignition switch when you turn the key.

 When I turn the key and give the S post 12 volts it doesn't complete the circut. By that I mean the left side primary post remains at zero volts. 

Any ideas ?  Is there a marine relay ? I don't think there is a difference even tho on a truck this device is screwed into the fender well.

This is a new relay, and I went back to the shop and got a different one but still no luck !

ground problem

It is set up the same as before damn. Ok can I ground it to the engine block ?

When I put in the new solenoid I had lowered it therby missing the grounding plate that is fabricated into the transom, just a heads up for anyone else ...
