Why the PCV? IMHO, lose the PCV and install another breather.  What oil,  oil pan and how much oil?

So the oil I assume comes out of the top of the tube (not the base of tube?

What oil did you break it in on?

Common for BBF's to leak out of dip tube. Take the dip stick out an keep it in a storage area on boat. Go by a rubber vacuum plug to slide over it(you want it snug). Been doing that for years(no leaks). I have a pcv on the back pass side that I ran a bead of silicone around the unit to rubber grommet(no leaks). I have an enclosed engine so thats why I have a pcv.

How far does your stick tube go down into the cover?  I have always drill a 3/16" hole just below where it presses in.

Just for clarification,  we're talking about a timing cover mounted dipstick, right?

There should be a tube going from the top of the timing cover to the bottom. Right at the top of the tube, above the water port, I have drilled a 3/16" hole below the top of the timing cover. This relieves the pressure from the crankcase in the tube and helps control the passing of oil to the top of the tube. You can also vent the pressure from the timing cover into either the lifter valley or externally to a puke tank.

There's more than one way to make a Ford almost as good as a Chevy.

DOH!  :D

Just to clarify; this modification requires the timing cover to be off for access to drill the dipstick guide tube, right?

Yeah,  but it's a Blue Oval,  it will be apart eventually.

Holy crap. Was that out loud?

Just kidding guys. I'd drive a boat with an AMC in it if I had to. Lol

Not mine... Both built professionally.  First by Ford themselves an the other ( for upgrades) by Bostick.
