454 BBC is overheating. Bassett T is fine. Need to replace some anodized blue fittings if anyone has any suggestions on where to get them cheap please let me know. Also going to replace the gate valve because it was corroded and full of calcium build up. Found out it never had a thermostat so wondering if we should put one in or leave it without one. Looks like the water lines are clear of any debris. Still can't tell where the main cooling issue is coming from. What else should we check?? Email me @ Kasaundra_shep714@yahoo.com

For AN fittings, a lot of people use G and J in Ontario.

I'm sure there are places closer to HB, just look up steel braided hose or AN fittings.

Probably about 98.75365976% of jet boats don't run a thermostat. If you really want or think you need one, do it after your overheating problem is dealt with.

When your boat is running, do you have a strong stream of water coming out of the dump line?
Is this something that just started happening? Does it overheat quickly after you've launched?
The build up on the gate valve "might" be enough to cause the problem. Is the valve on the jet or the dump line?

Sometimes sand can build up in the water jackets around the cylinders. There should be some plugs (3/8 pipe I think) on both sides of the block. You can take those out and run water through the block and flush out any sand or debris. Don't let water go to the headers.

I assume it is a jet boat. I have seen this before, and if not fixed it could destroy your engine. If the bearing starts to go in the pump, it lets the impellor start to machine it's way forward in the suction piece housing. It fills the water intake with debris and causes overheating. Eventually it works it's way forward far enough that it pushes on the crank and takes out the main bearings.

If anyone is willing to come take a look at it cuz i don't know too much about it. I live in hb.
