pcv valve

What are you guys doing about oil breathers? My ring gaps are pretty big because i have a blower and i get a little bit of blow by when its cold. I dont like the idea of routing it back through my carbs and getting oil into the blower. Also by boat sits low in the water. If im at the sand bar and a decent sized boat goes by it usually puts a little water in the boat. I have gotten water in my oil once and want to keep my valve covers sealed pretty tight. All the air breathers I have seen are push on with a rubber groment and does not stop the weather very well. Any suggestions?

There's always valve cover breathers with npt fittings and you can run hose to a remote breather can mounted higher....

Thats kinda what I was thinking. I had fabricated aluminum valve covers on my old motor. With the blower they didnt fit anymore and I didnt really want to trim the manifold to clear valve covers. I have seen people run a hose to the headers near the collector too. Im a little weary of that one.. Got any pic's of your setup?

I'm just running angled solid aluminum covers and some breathers from mooneyes. But I was toying with the remote breather idea.

I was having the same issue. I ran Jegs billet PCV valves($20 each) and routed them back to a puke tank with a breather. If you mount the tank @ the top of the blower, the oil will most likely won't run up the lines, and you will still let the valve covers breathe.

I have a breather on each valve cover. One breather has a nipple where I have a hose attached btween there and the vacuum port on the base of the carb.

Same issue on my Charger. Plan is to use billet PCV valves hosed to evac bungs installed in the headers. It's pressure causing this, not oil, so I think this will work in this case.
