Nitrous Plate jet Spread question
« on: May 18, 2017, 10:05:25 AM »
Gonna go out and test nitrous. Last season on the old motor (still lives) lol I had 53n 47f jets 6.5 flowing  fuel pressure and it was rich. I want to clean the tune up especially it being a new motor now . I have a Cheater plate current generation. Should I widen the spread or drop fuel pressure ? Thanks

I would put a 63n jet in there and leave the fuel jet and fuel pressure the same, but it depends on what kinda shot your motor can handle, are you looking for the "beat Jamie" tune???

From what I seen, if you run that tune, with some timing retard of course, that will be a good race

How much timing are you taking out on that tune up. Those Jets sound like a 100-125hp?

Might want to consider pulling a little bit more timing.

James for a 125 shot does a 6 jet spread with 6.5 flow fuel pressure still gonna be rich ? 5 degrees retard ?

It's really hard for someone to give advice when the spark plugs tell the tale of what your tune-up is doing. The best thing you could do is go off of the jetting chart for that plate, and read the plugs from there with fuel and timing adjustment. Take out 2 degrees for every 50hp.  Every engine is different and likes different adjustments.

63/47 6.5 ought to get you in the ballpark... but pull timing... timing is not your friend on nitrous and less ain't gonna hurt near as much as just a little too much.
