Please help
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:08:09 PM »
Hello I need some help with my boat. I took it out today and it was running awesome, later on that day as I was hitting the gas the boat would bog down and die then it kept getting worse it would bog down every 100-200ft but I could start it back up no prob with starter fluid spray. It really felt like it was getting no gas but I had a half tank. Is it my carb? Its brand new. Is it the fuel pump? Its like 1 yr old ? Please help I am a complete idiot when it comes to engines

Fuel filter needs to be checked.... Was this your first time taking the boat out?

check your filter, get a fuel pressure gauge, and make sure the bowls stay filled and your floats are set correctly.  a "new out of the box" carb might be set up okay to run on a street car but they usually dont lend themselves very well to a marine application without proper tuning.
