Quadrajet or holley 3310-4
« on: June 18, 2020, 05:31:04 PM »
The previous owner of the boat has been awesome and gave me a quadrajet he had laying around. Now the question is which one should i run or should i sell both and get a 750 cfm with a mechanical secondary.
Im trying to learn more about the quadrajet cause i know absolutely nothing about it

My opinion...i got a new edelbrock avs 2 800 and let me tell ya...i literally pulled it out the box and put it on...this carb has been great....i usually cruz the delta for 100 to a 150 miles a weekend when i go up there and good gas millage and great throttle response...no hesitation whatsoever

That brings me to another question. How much fuel is enough. It appears i have two 25-28 gallon tanks. I know alot of fuel is great but i also think about weight

Unless you’re running an 1/8 mile race don’t worry about weight

I have 2 10 gallon tanks and 1 of them is messed up....with a boat like yours having both tanks full aint no problem....now if your going to a lake for the day i would not fill both of them up...maybe 15 gallons total and that if you plan on cruzing all day. When i go to buena vista here in bakersfield i use maybe 5 gallons on fuel and thats pulling the tube spinning a few laps around the lake and water skiing....i have a 463 olds
