Race Fuel
« on: February 06, 2008, 10:13:07 PM »
Im not sure if this has been brought up yet. But I was wondering how long Race fuel will last if its in a sealed container and in a boats fuel tanks. I have a feeling I might need to Drain my tanks and re-build my carbs. Thanks

A couple of people have told me that gas looses 1 octane point a month.

BTW, I think Plesh has some really old race gas...  :D

That's for pump fuel, I'm not exactly sure how long leaded fuel last

It'll last a year in sealed container and a couple of weeks in your tanks . Just guessing here though .

It wont start and I think thats the problem. Its got spark, and compression. Gas must be bad. Isnt it such a good feeling to drop $350 a barrel on gas? :screwy:

Omar Pretty sure thats what Busby told me when I ask him last year too I have about 50 gallons in sealed 5 gallon containers that had a B'day And the Big boat has about 40 gallons of 50/50 and I'll be dipped in sh*t if I'm gonna toss it  ;D at 6 bucks a gallon I'll either "step on it' with new  or maybe put it in the Miata (probably damage the cat?) Oh well ! Tom

Smells like rotten eggs when you run it through a cat.... NASTY! My buddy put pure 101 leaded/oxygenated Aviation fuel in his mustang when we were 16. Ruined his cats.

Ya I was thinking about that after I posted it. A wise man once told me its all pink when you part it. I want to bring a bunch of fat chicks just to mess with everyone.

Pretty sure the joke would be on you buddy. Especially after all your food is gone and your boat is overloaded...
