rebuilding carb...
« on: February 23, 2011, 08:42:38 PM »
got it somewhat disassembled, i REALLY want to clean up the butterflies inside, also the secondaries are a little hard to open and stay closed.  do i just unscrew the 2 screws holding each one in and then the rod pulls out?

also can i use these 2 gaskets?  they're almost identical with the exception of the little lump at the top opening and then the center section.

any tips are GREATLY appreciated.

I would suggest not removing the butterflies due to having to get them properly aligned when you put them back in.  Are you using aerosol carb cleaner and they won't clean up?

theyre clean, they just have some rusty spots on em and the secondary shaft itself feel like theres rust/sand in it when you open it. ive heard a few times to NOT remove the butterflies due to it being impossible to align. haha.  are they REALLY that bad?
