Do you have clearance issues , just wondering why anyone would want a remote filter

My issue is on this BBF that the way the filter sits or is attached to the motor when you go to remove it it makes a mess in the bilge.  I'm trying to get away from that.

Well it makes it easy to change. I have seen some have to pull the motor just to get the filter off and if they dont have a drain hooked up to there pan. I have always had a dan olsen oil cooler with my filter hooked to that

That would be a pain, to have to pull the motor to change the oil filter.  Mine isn't that bad but the mess makes it worth the effort to remotely locate the filter.  I don't know that I need an oil cooler.

We just drop the filter into a ziplock freeze bag, and put a rag under it to catch any extra drips.   And if you have clearance issues, on the ford between the filter and stringer, you can use the shorter filter.

Rex Marine sells a real nice CNC oil filter relocator kit. The cheapy relocator kit IMO are a waste of money and time. If any of you have ever looked at the adapters you will know what I am talking about. I usually spend about 3 - 5 hrs blending and smoothing the transitions on these two pieces. Remember even if you have -12 lines and the holes are -6, that is all the oil you will flow because of misalignment and poor casting. Also if it is a BBF there are a few other things that can be done as well.

I 2nd Ralph on the billet. The only this that is ok to be cast on a motor is your intake manifold

I'm planning on doing a remote too, not that the oil filter on a BBM is hard to get at  (it's right in front), but I can use it to do oil changes. Quick pull the disti and intermediate shaft (accessable without removing anything but the single disti bolt), throw the priming tool in there, pull the filter and put a pan under it, and pump the old oil out in a few minutes.

Well, this is where mine is located right now and I am going to change it.  As a matter of fact there are going to be a lot of changes made.    I'll post an after when I get done.

Well, that does it for me.  The remote gets put on so I can keep everything as clean as possible.  Thanks Ralph!!!

I made a stainless bracket that mounted to the back of the head. The nice thing about having it attached to the motor is when you pull the motor it all comes out together. You dont have to disconnect any messy oil lines. Also when you change filters its very easy to access. Sorry I dont have any pics, motor at the engine shop.

Well, when you get to the motor, do you think you could take some photos?  Everyone loves photos!!
