Thanks Barry. But is it normal when you install these conversion kits to have to totally start over with the timing. I mean it wouldnt move the rotor, cap, teeth on cam or anything. I mean I don't see how it could mess up the timing. But I don't know that much about that stuff.
The problem with the trigger kits is it will actually change the point at which the coil gets fired by as much as several degrees.
I would check it. The time it takes to check it is about the same as it would take to detonate the motor and hurt something....

The rotor and distributor body have little to do with ignition timing. It is the trigger point, the rotor just puts the spark from the coil "close" to the pole in the cap, that's all. I always check to see where the arc marks are in the cap after a good hard run, I shoot for the first third on the contact....And yes, this
is adjustable....You move the plate in the body whatever direction necessary. Sometimes you need to drill larger holes in the plate. You should not have to worry about it with what you are doing...

Check the timing to be safe, you will be changing the trigger point.
