Went to Parker this weekend and the boat ran great, but an old fuel tank bracket hole became unplugged.  We woke up the next morning and discovered the boat with water in it.  Luckily the boat was in 2' of water.  Water found its way in possibly through the dipstick area.  Didnt run it the rest of the weekend.  Brought it home and the oil looked like a vanilla milkshake!  I heard of pickling the motor or changing the oil several times.  Any one have any good advise?  Lost in the sause....

If it were me I would buy a couple gallons of cheap motor oil.   Fill that sucker to the top of the valve covers and pump the cylinders full with an oil gun.   Work the engine back and forth a bit to move the pistons in the bore to make sure everything is exposed to the new oil.

I'd let it sit over night full of oil then drain it.   Turn the engine over by hand without plugs to pump out the oil from the cylinders then go from there.

Do you have any idea how deep the engine was submerged?

The boat was under to about the alternator, so the starter was submerged.  Really I dont know where all the water came in at!  Ya we were at Echo,  good times.  We were racing on Friday at sundown.  Had a blast! 

Get atf in the cylinders and crank it over to stop rust then drain fill crank or fire 4 like 2 min drain and repeat changing oil till no more milkshake

Did you run the boat after it filled up with water? I ask this because the only way the oil will turn into a milkshake is if it runs. If water just went into the dipstick it wouldnt be mixed in the oil like that. The water and oil have to run through the oil pump to be mixed together. I hate to say it but you might have a bigger problem.

Ya it was ran for a few minutes until I noticed white milk all over the transom.  And I think your right, I have a bigger problem than I think I have!  Well I guess thats what insurance is for right?  Dam this sucks!

Having them deal with a cobwebbed boat is tough on them. I'd cut them some slack with the probable basket case (multiple issues to deal with) to figure out. With everything working inunison it is hard to pinpoint issues when two or more systems are not in specifiction. Then you add thier inexperiencce, wow, good luck. Keep an eye on them, they obviously got fustrated and handed the boat over to you last time.

Good luck with your motor , I feel you , My motor has been Rebuilt twice this month due to lack of attention by the engine builder .
