Sank the boat

Hey guys still new to the forum but looking for some advice. Sank my boat out at lake mead a few weeks ago got it out of the water quick got it home dried out everything well but still water in the motor several oil changes later. Starts right up but cant go out and run with water in there. Any tips/tricks would be great thanks in advance

You need to get the oil hot enough to distill the water out. Maybe pick up a magnetic pan heater and leave it on.

The water should settle out to the bottom, if you heat it up, it will simply boil out. From past experiences I can tell you that it takes about a week with the oil at about 200*F...

Thanks a lot I've also heard heat it up then shut it down and pull the valve covers maybe the moisture rises?

Green house effect. If you use a pan heater it is imperative that you pull the valve covers. Otherwise the water cannot escape.

Trying to make it back to the marina in 3/4 ft wind chop hit a roller wrong filled up the boat with water up to the ass of my seat and motor shut off. Was still a float waiting for my buddy to turn around come get me then 2 more came over the back and after that I only had time to grab my wallet and truck keys and dive off the boat. Hull was sitting straight up and down about 4 feet of the bow out of the water when we hooked it up to my buddies boat started dragging

Real windy day. After getting my boat on the trailer we ended up waiting for several hrs back at camp when we were supposed to head home because it was to bad to bring my friends houseboat back to the marina

Try using a couple of quarts of tranny fluid with the oil and start it up the detergent will push the water out or on top of the oil then do another oil change with the same method til water isn't present. It's worked for me when one of my old boats got swamped and sank.
