Logs are about as quiet as it gets. 

Here's an idea...throw a set of dry headers on it for the weekend and run it around a bit, then put the logs back on.  By comparison, it'll be much quieter and they will thank you for your efforts.

You want quiet, get an outboard hehehe. I think they make a super queit exhaust with adjustable sound but you'll be 5gs out of pocket.

Good luck brother but again, snails is the quietest you'll get (if quietest is even a friggin word, excuse me I've had a couple of jack and cokes).

Won't fit on most of our lil boats though......too long......But a grand Idea!!!   Maybe snail up some exhaust hose.........

Sounds counter productive to me. Been running open O/T headers since I started all this and Moo 2.0 may well likely gonna be running dry Zoomies......ILoveItLoud? Bah hrumph!

Don't worry about the locals complaining. It's jealousy and envy, likely. Only worry about the Po-Po complaining......otherwise, run the friggin thing!

Thanks for the idea GT. I have seen this kind of muffler before, but I will need to get some exact measurements of a few different ones to see if any will fit. I don't have alot of room, but if I could cut a bit off each end of the muffler, they might fit.-----Oh, bye the way... The "ILOVEITLOUD" handle comes from my love of vintage audio gear, but an unkorked big block is pretty cool too.

I'm only running about 395-410 horsepower, but the boat performs well enough for me. The issue is that around here, everybody runs 75-120 horse outboards, with the occasonal 225 5.0 liter I/O. When I bring my BIG BLOCK BAJA out for a ride, it sets off everybody's radar.  I have had people give me the finger, and even come to my house, and complain! I have heard my boat with somone else driving it, and it is "NOT THAT BAD"---to me, but is no doubt, way, way louder(better) than anything that has been around here for at least 25 years. I have not had an encounter with the local cops, or DNR yet, but the wisconsin laws say 87 decibles...PERIOD, and you must participate in any form of test a DNR warden feels like performing. I am a vintage audio freak, so I know for sure that my boat won't even pass an 87db test on the trailer with the exhaust under water, let alone when the boat is on plane, and the exhaust is fully out of the water. I may have to resort to fabbing up some 90 degree elbows with down-tubes, to shoot the exhaust right into the water at the same level as the bottom of the boat.
