I have been really lucky, 10 years teaching machine shop and no serious injuries.  In fact, I am the only instructor who doesn't have one.

My wife is beside herself about the wedding ring thing, but she deals with it.

Not so much graphic, at least to me. More of a "keep ya kn your toes and stay safe".
I worked with a guy who came to us from Boeing as a CNC tube bender. I always gave him crap for being too comfortable. He'd load a tube in the bender and turn away as the machine would clamp up, and still have his hand in the mix. Saw him a few years back, needless to say he was missing two fingers ..

So this dude was being a mamby pamby and took off his hard hat and pulled the hoodie over his ears and got clocked it the head with a 400 HP motor swinging from a crane hook, it knocked him out cold and he fell into the roof cutout we were rigging the motor into and wend down 25' and landed on his left side, breaking six ribs, a clavicle, his jaw and his arm in three places... He didn't feel cold though...

He decided to change professions. I think he does storefront window painting now.... Like Santa and crap....

Also for safe grinding practice, you said to hold with allen wrench. This does not sound very secure unless you wrap tape?
I need to order my cable. I can order set screw too. or just grind it and be safe.

The part you posted is correct.

For now, I am going to say, I can not describe my technique.  You also need to dress the end of the thread or it won't start in and/or damage your new threads.

Honestly, I would leave it long.  It won't hurt anything.
