Fock! I just had hardened seats installed on my BBC 049 heads. A few of the valves we starting to pull through. The machine shop said it was from unleaded fuel. It really didn't cost a whole lot ($120 extra). Should I not have had them done? Just leave those couple valves the way they were?

If ya wanna drive it ya need 'em. It will do the same thing to all the rest of the valves without 'em.

motor already runs and i have been using it a ton this summer, just gettin the itch for more power. i have gone to the river 6 weekends in a row and will be going the next 2 weekends. boat is getting a full redo this winter so i am trying to plan accordingly.

Got nuther question for the pros,on my way to the river this morning I picked up a 650 marine double pumperand my buddy gave me a intake manifold.
Question is what mani I should use. Currently I have a edelbrock performer. The one my bud gave me is a "bowtie raised runner" casting number 10051103

You cant use the Bowtie mani w/o the bowtie heads. See as the name sugests, the runners (ports) are raised .200
