Have you checked the coil voltage while cranking?
One thing you could try (caution; backwoods as hell) remove the distributor, run a jumper wire (jumper cables work good) to the body to a good ground, ground a spark plug and hook the coil wire to the plug and with the key on, spin the distributor gear.....She should make blue fire at the plug gap.....
This will test the entire ignition system....The only thing left would be the distributor not turning or a ridiculous voltage drop...
This test takes ten minutes and will tell you everything that it is not....Honestly it sounds like a failing ignition box, but don't think you are running one....
