Unless you know someone running nearly the same setup that can give you a solid recommendation, you need to start with a very standard spark plug.  Then learn how to read spark plugs and replace as needed.  The 44 heat range in AC plugs are going to be very close.  I agree with the .045 gap with the HEI.  Also watch your timing closely, total of 32-33 max until you get your plugs sorted out.

Kewl, thanks Rod, after I typed that last post I remember seeing Tom had an hei in one of his boats, or should I say a dui, (davis unified ign.) Maybe I'll ask him as well, I've had such good luck with ngk's I'd like to stick with them if I can figure out what one they recomend. :banghead:

Personally I run the Accell 8198's cause they are the header plugs and they are gapped at .050. I am running the MSD set up not the HEI set up , but they should be fairly close.

Arent you running the Brodix Aluminum heads?   I'd try giving them a call they should be able to give you a real good baseline.
