before all of my ish was stolen, i had the simple 'inline' carb configuration w/ my holleys...how hard would it be to mount them sideways and make up a throttle linkage? is it a waste of time and money? i just like the looks of it that way much more than inline...so basically the same way as a blower setup, but on a TR...

Normally if your going to run double pumper type carbs you have to mount them sideways and single inlet (side hung float bowls) can go inline.  I would not mess with trying to build linkage for sideways carbs when you can buy a complete kit from a couple different companies.  I think Offy was the one we sold most often.

nice, so i can still find center squirter carbs? where at? i looked at summit and jegs, and didnt see chit...i maybe missed something, i dont know the first thing about carbs, so the float bowls, metering blocks and shit like that are foreign to me right now..so i need a special kind of carb to mount sideways? then i guess ill just mount inline...thanx for the info...now where can i find the carbs that i had? they were holleys, not sure if they were dp's or not...here's a couple pics of what i had...




so whats the story w/ the carbs that i had? to me, they look real old skool compared to what is offered nowadays, or i could be wrong, they just dont look like the original double pumpers that ive seen...what should i go with instead? i just want to get this bitch running nicely for the next couple of years until i figure out something else to screw with lol...thanx again guys,

Metering blocks allow you to change your secondary jets.  However, they add about 1/2 inch to the length of your carb.  Catherdral bowls, like what are found on the DP series, will also add another 3/4 of an inch to the carb. You had the std bowls.

When you mount them sideways, ALL carbs will fit - inline is where you have issues.

You can also add the "changable" jets to the secondaries without the added length of the metering block by using these billet plates http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/home_2.htm

For good bone stock remanufactured carbs, I highly recommend Lyle Stahle.  He is a carb rebuilder / remanufacturer that rebuilds to Holley specs and uses all Holley brand parts. If you don't see the carbs that you might want, then email him ("ask seller a question") and tell him what you'd like.  Also, he's a racer so tell him about your engine build and he has been known to jet the carbs for you/get you in the ballpark, so to speak.

He can powdercoat pretty much any color you want...here's a set of Center Squirters he recently sold:
