Switching from Olds to Chevy
« on: June 16, 2008, 03:23:49 PM »
This last weekend i took my boat to lake San Antonio and sucked a head gasket, and im pretty sure that i spun a rod bearing. The motor is hurt bad and i dont think that it is worth all the trouble to rebuild a olds. Im looking for a BBC that is reliable and something that will not break the bank. I would like to just find one that i can almost drop in, mounts, headers, ignition, ect. i have a brand new carb so i dont need that. im sure that i can piece together some other stuff like headers. If any one can help me out with a BBC that will run, and doesnt need to be a big HP build, and a good price that would be sweet.

Thanks

It's gonna cost. I sold all my average BBC stuff for around 650 bucks, and that's with no motor

thanks alot tom. i think that my best bet would be to just to find a rbuild olds motor and i think that i might have found one. i will be calling you guys for some jacuzzi rebuild stuff and maybe some gaskets for the jacuzzi, like the transom gaskets. Jeremy "Juke" said that he could stop by and pick up the parts for me. By the way your local lake is F ing Sweet i loved the 3 days i was there, i really wanted to stop by but i forgot to call and get directions, but soon i will be up there again and i will stop by to give my thanks.

Thanks

My Nordic had Ford mounts when I bought it. I swithched to a BBC. I got all my stuff on E-bay except the feet ( I wanted new ones). It cost me about 400.00 with PTO and such.
