« on: May 31, 2012, 09:29:06 PM »
Took apart the carb to find this. What is it and why? Carb is a holley 750 double pump marine version. Sat since around August of last year. Is nowadays gas that crappy?

This carb was on my boat when I still had my fiberglass tanks that were falling apart and polluting the fuel. Don't know if it could possibly be related.

Clean it up, add stabil to the fuel if it's gonna be sitting more than
A month, done.  Either keep the bowls full or make sure they're empty.

Thanks. I figured the crud in there is most likely from the glass tanks rotting from the inside out. Flushed the lines and fuel pump during this process of me troubleshooting my issue and got a fair amount of crap out of them. So stuff was definitely making it passed the fuel water sep filter. (one of the canister ones mounted on the transom)
