I've been changing quite a few things up on my new boat and wanted to see what you guys are running in regards to return springs. My foot pedal has a return spring within (goes on the outside of the cable and runs all the way to the cable end). My new throttle cable bracket also has dual return springs which is making for quite a bit of resistance. The throttle cable bracket is about as loose as I can go without it having no tension at close. Should I remove the return spring within the pedal? Pics attached for reference.
Note: The last picture was when I was mocking things up before the cable was connected to the foot pedal, the return spring adjuster is now almost all the way forward as noted in the second picture.
Pay no attention to the rats nest of spark plug wires those will be sorted out once I time the boat.
