ok so i have read that running a gasket will somehow cause the logs to warp and in turn have an exhaust leak. what do you guys have to say about the subject? they are hardin logs on a BBC. just run a gasket? run a gasket with rtv on both sides? or just use rtv and no gasket? and if so...what kind of rtv?

A good set of Harman logs and felpro gaskets....The water in these type go up towards the ports.

I used FelPro #1410 header gaskets on my logs with very good results.  I always installed them dry but adding sealant isn't going to hurt anything.

My engine had studs with brass nuts for the exhaust manifolds when I bought it and I continued to use them until I changed it over to headers.

Alex, when I had those logs on the Nordic, I have used both ways. The headers I used to build for the race trucks, we never used gaskets. Just Right-Stuff rtv to seal it. so I did that with those logs. When I rebuilt the motor I got a set of the metal header gaskets with my gasket kit and used them. They worked great as well. They didn't leak at all. I think you'll be fine

Picked up a set of fel pro 1410's and a bottle of the "right stuff". Gonna slap on the new logs soon. What's the difference between bolts and studs being in there? Bolts are what's holding my current set of logs on. Thanks again guys.

Orange "copper"RTV ..... Let them set up for 10 minutes and I install them finger tight . Come back 30 minutes later and torque .... never a problem and I run Harman logs .

so should i install the gaskets dry or with the "right stuff" on both sides of the gasket too? i just dont wanna get them on and realize.......oh crap i should've done that too.

I would suggest using a thin coat of high temp silicone (the red or copper one) on both sides of the gaskets.  The "right stuff" may be similar enough, but I am not familiar with it.
