Header spacing

Is there a difference between blower headers and NA headers? I have a set of headers that came with my daytona which came off a blower motor and they are TIGHT!! Any suggestions

No difference try twistys or up swept

I have a set of upswepts and they wont even fit. One header tube is into the side of the boat.

Find a good welder and have the primary tubes shortened right off the header flange. Should be able to bring em in atleast an inch and a half and maybe roll em in to gain some more space

Generally a set of true blower headers will have larger primary tubes than standard headers.

I found that the twisties are much wider than the traditional type. I don't think I could even get a set of twisties in my hull.

On my Bassetts the second tube back sticks out the farthest. You might look into a set of Rewarders to see if they are a different pattern.

how far from the hull do headers need to be before stuff gets "too hot" ?

you need to be at least 3" and run it fat.

Beaver,I have some Rewarder twisties that are fairly tight, I will measure them tomorrow... Or after I finish my Fat Tire...

OK. So measuring from the flange straight out at a90 degree angle, the Rewarders are 8-1/2" out. In contrast, my Borla's are 10-1/2"...

I will measure my headers tomorrow. I think mine are rewarders. I might have to do what keith did but I dont think I even have room for those heat shields.

I measured my Bassetts the same way, #5 was 8.25" out. (2.25" primaries)

Buy a set of flanges and well make some at the shop. Or just put a blower on it and go with some zoomies

So I measured my headers and they are over 10". i need to get a narrower set. Im looking to trade for some twisties in the same condition as my headers.

Hey Dave, we tried twisties on the Daytona. They fit but would have been too close
heat wise. We ended up with straight Rewarders and the closest tube is approx.
3 1/2" from either side of the boat.

We run ours dry and the gunnels get pretty hot. but I do tend to run it pretty hard. ( on occasion )

I would like to try a set of zoomies, but have not had the chance to try any for fit yet.
Maybe the laid backs would work well ?
Nick could allways make you up a set of custom stainless headers.

Looking forward to seeing you guys and that purdy new boat on the water.

My headers i have now are like yours, except mine are off the head about 10" and are about 1" or less to the side of the boat. I have seen a ton of pictures with guys that have twisties and straight ones. i Think that the big problem is the spacing off the head. I would love to run zoomies but then i would need a blower and all that jaz

Im still looking for some headers. I would like some twisties and would trade my headers for some that are in good condition, since my headers are in great condition and are ceramic coated.
