Water Injected Headers

Well after a month or so, I finally got the boat to a point where I felt safe taking it for a test run. Everything for the most part went smooth. Only concern I have is the water injected headers. Maybe I'm just paranoid but could anyone tell me from the video attached if my headers are set up correctly? I have a valve just before the Bassett T that Is open about 3/4 of the way.

It looked like a lot of water at low RPM to me. Oh and is your back seat a hide-a-bed?

it looks fine to me. the important question is at idle, is there water coming out still? thats when you want no water coming out.

If I remember right, at the begining of the vid RPM's should be right around 2,000.
And no, it's not a hide-a-bed... why would you think that?

Too much water is coming out. You want a fine mist about 6" long out of your pipes at speed, not cotton candy fluff like you've got. Turn some of the header water down, you'll be glad you did

no water should be coming out under 2000 rpms.

Thank you very much, ill make that adjustment next run out.

Also,  "your mon" how do you embed Youtube vids on this forum? I tried a few times before I gave up :mad:

Alright, got the new water lines and restrictor fittings installed. Adjusted the valve so just a mist is coming out off idle. Everything looks good :thumbup: One last question though. I got to ride in the back today while the wife drove and I got to see what's actually going on back there. How much water should come out the weep holes at idle and how much off idle?

Your injectors should be dry at idle. If water is coming out at idle your Bassett tee could be bad or assembled incorrectly.

I phrased that wrong. The weep holes are dry at start up then when the T opens up water comes out both the pipes and the weep holes. Coming from open throttle to idle the pipes go dry but water still comes out the weeps for 30sec - 1 minute. My question is: is this normal? Seams like quite a bit coming out the weeps at idle from open throttle. I don't have any water in the oil so I assume its ok but I thought it would be best to ask the forum.

turn the header water down. There is to much water in the headers.

I don't think I can turn it down any more :-\ the t- valve is working properly, I can open the header valve all the way and get nothing at idle so I know the t-valve is closed below 1800. I have my header valve opened less than half way. I did this slowly while the boat was being driven until I saw mist out the exhaust, if I close it any more the mist goes away. My confusion is: when the boat is first fired up I have no water period at idle or through the no wake zone (below 1800) when the rpm's come up (above 1800) I have mist out the exhaust that looks good, not as "cotton candy fluff" like the video above but some water comes out the weeps, kind like a light spray. Then from throttle to idle the exhaust mist goes away but the weeps still put out water for 30sec or so. I have no clue what normal operation should look like, from what i've read water comes out the weeps regardless, I just want to know if its just suppose to be some drips or a steady stream until dry. I assume that if I had too much water in the pipes some would get into the oil but my levels are dead on. I'll try and get a vid tomorrow...

I took it out again Friday and Saturday. The boat ran great, No water in the oil, Headers didn't get too hot. I ran into another jet boater on Friday and showed him what I had going on and he said that's how his have looked for 15 years without any problems. Made me feel a bit better but I still took a vid (terrible one) This vid is from WOT to idle, I counted how long it took for the drainage to stop and it was 31 seconds. Sorry about the vid quality but My wife took it and I did not review it until today. Again, my oil level is dead on and looks nice and clean, no water in there at all. The weeps only do this at idle coming from WOT and very little comes out the weeps while driving
