wet spark plug bbc??
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:43:36 PM »
Hey whats up.  So I went to change out my spark plugs and noticed my number three cylinder spark plug was covered in fuel. I turned the engine over without any spark plugs in it and the number three cylinder spits out fuel. Not sure if I have a bad intake valve or what the problem is. Any ideas?

1- 110 lbs. per sq. inch . the spark plug was black
3- 89 spark plug was black and wet.
5- 100 spark plug was black.
7- 105 spark plug had very little soot on it

2- 111 only about 1/2 black soot on the spark plug
4- 103 5/8ths black on the spark plug
6- 107 3/4 black soot on the spark plug
8- 106 spark plug was black.

this is after i put in new spark plugs mr44t acdelco plugs and ran it for a few minutes last week when i found the problem and today i ran it for about 7 minutes to warm it up for the compression test.

The low compression on #3 was more than likely due to a fuel washed cylinder wall..Shoot a bit of oil in that cylinder through the spark plug hole and fix your carburetor (either float/seat problem or dribbling accelerator pump would be my guess...)..

Good luck...

I would recommend whatever you're running in the crankcase....But anything oily would work..
