After running an electric fuel pump for 12+ years, on 3 different boats, I'd never run a mechanical again. 2 motors hane no provision for a mechanical fuel pump, & I just have a Carter elec. pump, relayed to oil pressure. makes it easier when switching tanks on the lake/river.
But thats on my junk.

I've had both and like the simplicity of the mech. I have an electric carter for sale if your interested...If you have a hatch, you need to get a marine style to vent to arrester. The carter is non vent rotary style.

Electric on my boat with a 3# hob switch from the oil presser, so i don't have to hear it when i just have the key on,, and motor craps out so dose the fuel..
