What size blower?

So I’ve searched with no great answers. I’m looking into building a blown 555 Chevy and wanting to make north of 1k HP on pump gas for a 23’ deck with a dominator pump. I have a killer deal on a brand new 671 but am not sure it will be able to provide enough air in the higher rpm. So my question is has anyone built this combo with a 671? Or have an opinion on what size blower would be ideal?

I would run 10-71 or higher, you have to spin the shit out of a 6 to make the boost you need with that cubic inch. Spinning the blower that fast generates a lot of heat, the bigger the blower the slower you have to spin it, with less heat built up in the blower. I’m sure there is more guys on here that will give you better advice then me, just my 2c

I made 1030 horse in my 509” BBC with a 1071 Littlefield and blower shop intercooler on AvGas.

I’d imagine spinning that 671 is going to make a bunch of heat. The price of that 671 today might be costlier down the road.

A 1071 or larger with an intercooler is going to be more efficient, if there’s such a thing in a roots blower, in the long run.

There is nothing cheap about building quality horsepower. Make sure you’re comparing cost and not price.

I dint think it would be able to provide the air without the heat, but was worth a shot and asked. Most likely will go with either a 1071/1471 blower shop and a chiller. Ideally want the motor to make that 1k hp mark and not have to work hard as hell to get it.
