I don't know for sure if the PTO flange will match up, but they changed just about everything else on them. My cam only LS1 (stock 241 heads) with a fast 90 intake puts about 430 to the tires, and its got 108,000 miles on the clock
Also, they make carbed intakes and even an adapter for a distributor if you don't want your laptop getting wet!!
The only bellhousing bolt that doesn't match up is one of the top two.
I would try to get the temp up, as they come from the factory with a 185 thermostat. If you get it rebuilt and tell the machinist to make the pistons a little extra loose, then I wouldn't worry about it though.
which cam ?
i bet i could use a bbc bellhousing one of the forum members has for sale.. then weld on extra ear or tab on it for the off beat hole... not that it would really need it.
{like darrel young used to do at long beach veterans stadium years ago}
the car only had 56k miles on it. im hoping the engine is still tight.
the thing runs even though the radiator is smashed.
it has all the bolt on stuff except the intake.. i would have to check and see if it had the later factory intakes swapped in.it has a hogged out mass air unit and slp intake lid, cat back exhaust, fanswitch over ride, iat resister.the normal stuff to get the car in the 13's.
this ls stuff is all new to me...
but i know they make some big numbers without to much work and stay together pretty good.
{almost scary like an asian engine..with ford heads ?
i'll bet i take a beating for saying that..}
someone pm'ed on headers.. i didn't think about the sandrail stuff..
i have a friend into that glamis stuff. i should hit him up and see what they are making..?
if not ,i was thinking sandwich plates like the splayed port first gen exhaust adapters..what ever is close to an LS-1 ?
im not really looking for full-on headers..unless they are like the rewarder stuff. i want to cover the whole engine bay with a hard cover and use gas struts.. like a newer boat.then use a bench and two buckets up front. similiar to a 22' scarab or eliminator or donzi.. i know it is an older boat and it might be tabboo.. but i want to load people in it safely with no problems.and i have some time and not alot of money...i want to use some ingenuity instead of tapping out my tapped out credit cards..
i wonder if foose does boats?
i will get some pics up.. i don't want to sound like i'm full of stale gas..
thanks everyone for the responses.
any info is always appreciated...
