Alright fellas so I tore down my engine this weekend and am ordering up all the miscellaneous odds and ends to get it back together and ready for her maiden voyage. I currently have the below pictured mechanical fuel pump and am looking for suggestions on what to replace it with. The pump will be feeding a stock 454 with a Holley 850, Edelbrock Victor Jr. with O/T rewarder headers. Block is stamped 14015445. I'm flexible on price just want something that will be as reliable as possible.

Links to purchase and/or part numbers are appreciated.

Do I run the risk pushing too much fuel that could inhibit performance? Holley has a 110gph mechanical pump as well.

I use the holley blue electric fuel pump or the Mallory pro comp fuel pump with a regulator

Until I build the motor to the point that its HP over convenience/reliability I would like to stick with a mechanical pump.

Both mech. Holley fuel pumps have a pre set  cut out @ 7 psi.
No need for a regulator

Alright after more research I am going to go with a Carter fuel pump. I can't seem to find a marine fuel pump from Carter that is labeled for a BBC. Is Model #M6628 the right one to get?

Clay Smith pump. Pricey, but nice. And rebuildable.

It is exposed. I called Carter and they said I could run #M60502 but the reviews on Summit are not great looking. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-m60502
